Who Is James Benson?

Hey there, I'm James Benson! I’m a Biomedical Engineer from the beautiful city of Denver, Colorado, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I’m a huge outdoor enthusiast. Whether it’s hiking mountain trails or trekking through rugged landscapes, being out in nature has always been my happy place.

For over 25 years, I poured my heart into my work at Meditech International, designing medical devices that (hopefully!) made a real difference in people’s lives. I’ve always believed that technology should be used to empower us to live life to the fullest. That passion for creating life-changing solutions is what defined my career—and now, it’s what’s driving my next big adventure.

I’m all about helping others move freely and live without limitations. After all, life is meant to be experienced to the fullest, and no one should be held back by pain or physical setbacks.

"I believe everyone deserves to move freely and experience life without limitations."

My Turning Point and Journey to Innovation

Life has a funny way of teaching you lessons when you least expect it. For me, that moment came during a seemingly ordinary trek in the Rocky Mountains. I had spent countless weekends hiking those trails, feeling strong and invincible. But on this particular day, my knee gave out, and I found myself lying there in pain, realizing that years of pushing my body to the limit—both in the office and outdoors—had finally caught up to me. It wasn’t just an accident; it was a wake-up call.

The diagnosis wasn’t easy to hear: my knee was in such bad shape from years of stress and physical strain that I needed a knee disc replacement. For someone who always prided himself on being active and independent, the news hit hard. The recovery process was even tougher. I went from exploring rugged trails to struggling with basic movements, and the experience was nothing short of humbling.

But during those long months of recovery, something clicked. Lying there, unable to do the things I loved, I realized how many people must go through the same pain and frustration. I knew I couldn’t just sit there and do nothing. My background as a Biomedical Engineer suddenly felt like a gift I needed to use differently.

That’s when my new journey began. I started working on developing knee support products that could help people, just like me, get back to living life to the fullest. I wanted to create knee braces and massagers that weren’t just functional but genuinely life-changing—products that would offer real comfort, aid in healing, and help people reclaim their freedom of movement. I got to work, collaborating with orthopedic specialists, testing countless designs, and making sure every product I developed could withstand both everyday use and the demands of adventure. That why Hiffy come to life.

Now, this small business is more than just a passion project; it’s my way of giving back and making sure others don’t have to suffer the way I did. My journey has come full circle, from a moment of helplessness on that mountain trail to a mission that’s all about empowering others.

Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life is meant to be lived—fully, freely, and without limitations.

MY VISION

So, what’s the big picture?

Well, my vision is simple: I want to help people live pain-free and active lives.

I believe we all deserve to move freely, whether it’s exploring mountain trails, chasing after our grandkids, or just enjoying a walk around the neighborhood without wincing in pain. After going through my own struggles with knee pain and recovery, I knew I had to do something meaningful.

My mission? To inspire a world where joint pain doesn’t hold anyone back. I’m here to build more than just products—I’m here to build hope, confidence, and a better quality of life.

What Truly Maters:
- First and foremost, it’s Innovation. I’m all about pushing boundaries and using the latest technology to design knee support solutions that actually work and make life easier. But that’s not all.

- I also believe in Empathy—I get it, because I’ve lived it. I know what it feels like to face physical setbacks, and that’s why I’m so dedicated to creating products that genuinely make a difference.
- And lastly, there’s Community. This isn’t just about me; it’s about all of us. I want to build a supportive network where we can share stories, lift each other up, and celebrate every small victory along the way.

We’re in this together, and I’m here to make sure you never feel alone on your journey to better mobility. Let’s keep moving forward—together, one step at a time.
